KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Intern to join our Economic & Valuation Services (EVS) practice.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze value and supply chain protocols in various industries and recommend improvements to achieve and maintain desired results
  • Assist with improving efficiency and productivity within a clients business by connecting departments with Finance, Accounting, Economics and Tax teams
  • Support meetings with senior client management to further develop business knowledge and help prepare recommendations for improved results and mitigated risks with a focus on planning, efficient Lean Six Sigma implementation and compliance, dispute avoidance and management and technology
  • Help advise clients by researching and benchmarking businesses, products, industries, markets and conventional and digital economies to connect economic theory to corporate practicalities
  • Use innovative technologies and work towards developing new applications and platforms for use internally and externally
  • Understand how transfer pricing principles impact businesses and work with KPMG member firms around the world to help our clients achieve their business goals

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s, in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative field with a focus in taxation
  • Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.00 or above
  • Upon completion of this internship candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements
  • Coursework or minor in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science or Data and Analytics preferred; and demonstrated ability to explain complex topics in simple terms preferred
  • Knowledge of strategic transfer pricing studies, financial statement analysis, quantitative and competitive analysis, statistical sampling and econometrics, strategy evaluation and/or operational performance analysis; supply chains, operations management, workflow processes, Lean Six Sigma and project management; demonstrated quality service mindset and sales or customer service experience a plus
  • Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access, Power BI), Alteryx, Tableau and other data analysis and visualization tools
  • Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality work
  • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
