Developing deep learning models for predicting the effect of perturbations from large scale perturbation screens with high-content readouts
Intern Project Overview And Responsibilities
The Department of Cell and Tissue Genomics (CTG) and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML) are looking for a highly motivated Research Intern to improve algorithms for the analysis of large-scale perturbation screens.
The Intern’s Responsibilities Are
- Apply statistical reasoning to optimize machine learning loss functions
- Implement estimation procedures in Python.
- Benchmark novel algorithms on perturbation screen data.
- Present on the scientific findings.
Qualifications:
- Programming experience in Python required, familiarity with a deep learning framework such as pytorch or jax strongly suggested
- Solid background in Statistics and Probability Theory
- Basic knowledge of the concepts of high-content perturbation screens such as Perturb-Seq
- Basic knowledge on causal reasoning/Bayesian networks
- Experience with differential equation modeling preferred
Intern-eligible employees:
For Colorado-based applicants, the expected salary range for this position is [21/hr – 50/hr]. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for the benefits listed below.
