Plan International

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. Plan International’s work on preventing, reducing, and eliminating Child, Early, and forced Marriage and Unions (CEFMU) in Asia-Pacific spans more than a decade and is led by Plan International Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Hub.

While it draws from and supports the Global 18+ framework and related Theory of Change, this work has taken on a distinctive character in Asia-Pacific, pursuing comprehensive programmatic and influencing interventions and processes to effect change. It builds on the knowledge and expertise generated over the last 15 years, with the intense involvement of the Country Offices and their teams, and has evolved into a regional initiative called Time to Act!

The Time to Act! Toolkit (“Time to Act!” Gender-transformative Programme Strategies for addressing Child, Early and forced Marriage and Unions in Asia Pacific: Toolkit for Practitioners) was developed by Plan International APAC with the involvement of Plan International Country Offices in late 2021. The key purpose of this resource is to contribute towards accelerating efforts to end child, early, and forced marriage and prevent union (CEFMU) by 2030 in line with the Sustainable Development Goals commitments

Plan International Asia-Pacific Regional Hub is seeking to hire a CONSULTANT to co-develop with the Youth Campaigner Core Group, a Youth Activist Toolkit on Child, Early, and Forced Marriage and Unions, that builds on the content from the current CEFMU Toolkit for practitioners. The toolkit will be used as a resource for the youth campaigner core group and other youth activists on CEFMU.

The consultancy will run from February 27 to April 28, 2023.

  • Ability to conduct workshops for adolescents/youth (online)
  • With knowledge and experience in doing campaigns and advocacy on and offline
  • Have familiarity with CEFMU or sexual and reproductive health and rights
  • Good English skills (written and oral)

Responsibilities:

  • Review relevant documents and meet with the regional core team.
  • Conduct online consultations/workshops with members of the Youth Campaigner Core Group (YCCG).
  • Draft and finalize the content of the toolkit.
