Chief of Party, Host & Impacted Community Response Activity in Bangladesh

Here’s where you come in:

As the Chief of Party, USAID-funded Host & Impacted Community Response Activity in Bangladesh, you will be responsible for providing strategic vision, technical leadership and administrative oversight of the program ensuring compliance and project quality and will serve as the principal institutional liaison to the donor and local government entities. The goal of the Activity is to mitigate the socioeconomic and environmental challenges in communities either hosting Rohingya refugees or impacted by the Rohingya refugee crisis. This activity is a 5-year program worth $25 – 49.99 million.

You must have proven leadership skills managing projects of a similar size and scope with prior experience effectively managing USAID development activities. You must have experience working in Bangladesh or in the South Asia region, familiarity with the country’s social landscape, and demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with host governments, donors, other donor-funded projects and stakeholders, local organizations, and partners. You must have demonstrated experience recruiting, developing, and managing staff, as well as experience managing programmatic and financial reporting. You must understand and demonstrate commitment to the importance of adaptive management, gender, and youth issues in development programming and within staff and management of the activity. This position is contingent upon funding and donor approval.

Requirements include:

• A Master’s degree in international development, non-profit management or related a concentration from an accredited U.S. college or university, or international equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing development activities, especially in Bangladesh or in the South Asia region.
• Experience as a CoP/PD or senior technical advisor is required.
• Experience managing sub-grants and contracts under grants for complex projects
• Previous experience with large USAID grants including Resilience Food Security Activity (RFSA), Development Food Security Activity (DFSA), Development Food Assistance Programs (DFAP)s, Multi Year Assistance Programs (MYAP)s and/or Development Assistance Programs (DAP)s is preferred.
• Must be fluent in English
• 30% Travel required.
