ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Partnerships Compliance Associate will assist with the capacity building of project partners in the Philippines. S/he will help prepare payments, monitor the subgrants and service contracts, review financial reports and invoices, conduct field visit, and prepare reports. This position reports directly to the Partnerships Compliance Manager and under the general oversight of the Country Director, providing support to partners on compliance with Internews and funder rules and regulations.

DAY-TO-DAY TASKS are as follows – under the direct supervision of the Partnership Compliance Coordinator, the incumbent will:

  • Assist in the review of financial reports of contractors and grantees, including follow-up as needed.
  • Maintain and update internal payment and cost trackers for all Internews Philippine projects’ subgrants and contracts.
  • Work closely with subgrant recipients and non-personnel contractors to collect and check mandatory supporting documentations.
  • Collect initial supporting documentations and information from potential partners (subgrant questionnaire, SEC and BIR registration, bank account details, etc.)
  • Assist with preparing payment request package to ensure the processing of payments to grantees and contractors by Internews HQ (financial report or invoice, supporting documents, narrative report, Wire Transfer Request)
  • Perform cost analysis of proposed budgets from potential subgrant recipients and contractors.
  • Help ensure that grantees and contractors understand donors’ rules and regulation applying to the program under which they are partner of Internews and comply with these rules.
  • File maintenance and administration tasks as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience with international NGOs
  • Relevant University degree in Finance, Business, or another relevant area of studies or equivalent lived/professional experience.
  • Familiarity with donor rules and regulations, with strong preference for candidates having experience with USAID funding.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated intermediate expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Proven ability to set priorities, manage time effectively and handle on-going assignments.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work with minimum supervision.

Preferred:

  • University Degree in Financial Management or similar
  • Experience with budget management and financial reporting
  • Experience in grant writing, compliance or program coordination for at least 5 years
