General Accountabilities

The Intern will be assigned accounting related and analytical work to assist both financial reporting teams (GAAP and STAT).

Duties And Responsibilities

Product Accounting & Other

  • Assist with quarterly product data preparation as needed
  • Prepare account reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly accounting entries as needed
  • Assist with rollforward, tie-out and footing of all stand-alone and consolidated financial statements
  • Assist with preparation of separate account audit reports
  • Assist with new and other ongoing transactions / projects as needed
  • General assistance to be provided throughout the financial reporting department as needed

Internal Report Preparation

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual management reporting to corporate parent
  • Preparation of quarterly Financial statement packet for certain entities
  • Assist with preparation of required statutory state filings

Qualifications

  • Full-time student pursuing degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least a 3.5 GPA
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Statutory reporting helpful
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to think objectively and analytically
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to work with various levels of management
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Eligibility

Students eligible for the internship will be fulltime students available to work approximately 19 hours a week, beginning immediately. Student will be expected to work concurrently with Spring semester classes with the potential to extend further. Junior or Senior status preferred.

Reliability

  • Ability to manage school assignments while producing quality results required for the Intern assignment
