Position Summary

At West, interns are key contributors to the company. During your 10-week, competitively paid internship program, you will gain significant, well-rounded, and marketable skills and experience.

As an Intern on the Digital Enterprise program, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about and contribute to the all-important digital platforms that run our Enterprise functions including (but not limited to) Finance, Customer Success, Supply Chain and Human Resources. You’ll talk to and learn from our business leaders on their analytical and transactional needs from the digital systems to run our business effectively. You’ll work with technology leaders to learn about the vision for a consumer grade, homogenous fully automated enterprise and partner with a team of software engineers, designers, testers and analysts to directly contribute to the development and deployment of the digital enterprise of the future.

Accountabilities

• Partner with Technology and Business leaders to understand West’s business specifically around enterprise functions.
• Work with business leaders to understand their digital concerns and needs. Create a backlog of technology enhancements with prioritization in agreement with business leaders.
• Build prototypes for Enterprise Analytics covering key discovery and insights to measure the performance of the various functions with business users. Work with developers to convert prototypes into value generating productional dashboards
• Participate in the development of the exciting enterprise apps aimed at making the lives of our users easier
• Work with the Enterprise Digital team on some key enhancements to the day-to-day user transactions
• Analyze the usability of existing software applications and determine areas of improvement. Work with designers to reimagine the UI/UX to enable smoother human/digital interactions
• Manage and present individual and/or group project(s)
• Actively participate in department meetings and conference calls.
• Collaborate with fellow West interns, across multiple West locations
• Learn and master West applications and technology
• Participation in Lunch n’ Learns, networking and philanthropic events
• Participate in Lab and/or Plant tours
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a College or University Bachelor’s Degree Program
• Rising Junior or Rising Senior at time of internship – Summer 2022
• Able to work FT hours and available during 10-week program duration of May 31, 2022 – Aug 9, 2022
• Located local to the city of opportunity or willing to relocate to within local during program duration, without relocation assistance
• Able to work hybrid

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in technology, engineering, science, management discipline (with majors / emphasis in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering Management or equivalent)
• 3.0 GPA or higher
• Previous internships or relevant work experience
• Collaborative nature
• Strong interpersonal skills
