Product Development Intern

About the Position:

SCOUT is seeking a driven Product Development Intern for an in-person role on our growing team. Your responsibilities will include product strategy presentation preparation, creation of line sheets, and helping to pull reports and aggregate data for various seasonal meetings, assisting the Product Line Manager in daily deliverables and other product related projects. As a part of this internship you will be required to work at our new SCOUT Flagship Store alongside our Store Manager. Your responsibilities will include creating a memorable on-brand experience, building relationships to drive business through effective selling, friendly customer service, and of course product knowledge. This is a very exciting opportunity to join the next chapter of SCOUT, serving as the link between our brand and how it comes to life in stores.

You will report to the Product Line Manager and work closely with the Design Manager and Senior Planner on the Product team as well as the SCOUT Flagship Store Manager.

What you will be doing:

Product Development:

• Assist in updating and maintaining the line sheets by adding images and updating data.
• Create documents/visual aids for line selection and trim review meetings.
• Complete imagery requests for digital product renderings with design consultants.
• Build out competitive analysis documents to help develop future seasons
• Measuring and checking new form sample compliance and dimensions.
• Assist Senior Planner in the creation of the Open to Buy process and line list.
• CLO Processing: Review and ensure the highest standards of quality on delivered 3D CLO Assets.

SCOUT Flagship Store:

• Be an expert in product knowledge with hands-on experience and consistently share knowledge with customers
• Act as brand ambassador with the following responsibilities: deliver an on-brand customer experience, exhibit extensive product knowledge, be an expert in store systems/technologies
• Communicate merchandise needs and trends to Store Manager in order to maximize sales
• Provide feedback from customer interactions to improve in-store experience
• Ensure brand consistency through proper visual presentation of fixtures and product
• Uphold consistent inventory accuracy in the store through physical inventory counts
• Minimize loss from theft
• Assist inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring efficiency
• Sustain seamless store operational procedures

Required:

• At a minimum, 25 hours a week availability for the Summer Internship window of May-August including flexibility to work some weekends, holidays and special events for the Flagship Store (able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs)
• Creative, enthusiastic self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
• Attention to detail, highly organized, and able to meet deadlines
• Effective and passionate communication skills with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the brand
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Enthusiasm for learning and upholding current industry trends and best practices

Preferred but not required

• Interest in fashion and pop culture
• Familiarity with the SCOUT brand
