Project Portfolio Intern

The Business Excellence department at Novavax is seeking a motivated and upbeat summer Intern to join our Project and Change Management team for the summer of 2022. As a Project Portfolio intern, you will assist in the development and deployment of Project Portfolio Management platform and processes within the Global Manufacturing Operations organization. You will collaborate with portfolio managers and project managers across all Novavax sites to create harmonized project management standards.

You will also have the opportunity to develop and/or enhance project management skills while working with project teams in a fast-paced environment. This position will also provide exposure to different categories of projects within a biotechnology company.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be well organized, detail-oriented, problem solver and a quick learner. This position will report to the Senior Project Manager.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Create templates for Project Management tools.
• Assist in the development of project portfolio management platform.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers to develop global and site level project portfolio management strategy and process.
• Design and deploy computer-based and instructor-led trainings for available project management tools and processes.
• Identify ways to spread awareness about new and existing project management tools.
• Schedule and facilitate project review meetings to align cross-departmental teams.
• Additional tasks / projects as assigned by manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program. Engineering or Project Management related degrees preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite (PowerPoint, Project, Excel, Visio, Power BI).
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Superior organization skills, attention to detail and critical thinking are essential.
• Be open to new skills and accept new challenges.
• Ability to work independently but also as a part of a team.
