Position Overview
The Hubbell Summer Internship Program is a 12-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell.
The Territory Manager Intern position offers a variety of opportunities including basic sales engineering tasks related to Utility knowledge (both Public Power and IOU), HPS product knowledge, Sales training and pricing strategy. Internships may require travel to suppliers, customers or other Hubbell locations.
Territory Manager Interns will typically support one or more experienced TMs in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as the day-to-day operations of the Sales Territory. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which will help them build a strong network within the Hubbell community.

Duties And Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities will vary by Hubbell business location, but may include the following:
- Support an assigned territory to ensure effective, efficient and economical use of available time and Company assets to achieve sales objectives.
- Conduct sales calls with Territory Managers and Sales Representatives on targeted customers, distributors, consultants, and end users.
- Conduct sales training internally and with distributor personnel to sell and promote Hubbell products; manage distributor inventory investments to ensure maintenance of proper inventories to service the trading area and maximize the “Return on Investment”.
- Service distributors, contractors and end users by generating demand for HUS products.
- Service distributors and end-users while creating demand for the Company’s product offering.
- Serve as a customer information center for literature and catalog requests, technical detail, drawings, and cross-reference information.
- Generate renewal paperwork for pricing and approval, verify correct entry of contracts, and handle claim discrepancies between Shelton and distributor.
- Acquire superior product and Company policy knowledge
- Analyze win/loss data reports
- Develop pricing strategy using AURSI bid tool
Skills And Experience
- Student must be 18 years of age by the start of the summer internship assignment
- Student must be enrolled in an accredited university working towards an Associates, Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Computer, Industrial, Civil, Aerospace, or STEM related degree)
- Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. To complete your application and be considered, you must submit your unofficial transcript.
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Demonstrate leadership qualities through exemplary work ethic and selling skills, having earned the respect of both customers and peers.
- Demonstrate strong Communication Skills in all aspects of business and presentation skills
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills and maintain accurate account records.
