This will be a year-long, paid internship starting and would offer a minimum of 20 hours per week.
What You Will Learn:
- Knowledge of the various retirement plan types and basic compliance rules
- How to complete annual plan administration for clients’ retirement plans, including plan reconciliations and Form 5500 preparation
- Knowledge of various employer contribution allocations /calculations and non-discrimination testing
- How to address administrative issues and answer clients’ questions regarding ongoing plan administration
- How to prepare participant distribution paperwork for various investment platforms
- Experience with retirement plan administration software, related software and investment platforms
- How to assist with the planning and performing employee benefit plan audits:
- Perform the detail work of audits and other assurance services for clients
- Collects and analyzes data to detect control deficiency or non-compliance with laws, regulations, or management policies
- Assist drafting the financial statements for the plan
- The ability and initiative to develop the skills necessary to advance to the level of RPS Staff
- The ability to work independently to meet deadlines
- How to perform self-study for ASPPA examinations
Position Requirements
What We Require:
- Junior or senior with a major in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- GPA of at least 3.0
- Desire to be in a specialized service niche
- Able to work at least 20 hours per week on a normal basis, optional to work more (we can offer flexibility around class schedules)
